Ali Akbar,Role Model of Chivalry and Bravery in Islam
Ali Akbar,Role Model of Chivalry and Bravery in Islam Youth Day in Iran is celebrated on 11thShaban (Hegira) which coincides with the birthday of Hazrat Ali Akbar (A.S), the first son of Imam Hossein (A.S), born in the holy city of Medina. Since Hazrat Ali Akbar (A.S) is the example of youth bravery in the event of Karbala, Shia Muslims celebrate the occasion of his birth as a reminder, for all Muslim youth to be like him. His bravery was like his grandfather Imam Ali ibn AbiTalib (A.S), his character and face resembled his great grandfather prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H). He so much resembled the holy Prophet that Imam Hossein was often heard to say that whenever I remember the holy Prophet, I look at Ali Akbar. Ali Akbar had a loud beautiful voice. It was he who always recited Azan. He was also a brave soldier. He had been taught fencing and archery by Hazrat Abbas (A.S). Ali Akbar fought very bravely and no one dared come close to him in single combat. After he had killed many well-known warriors during Karbala event, Umar ibn-e-Sa'ad ordered his soldiers to finish off the young man saying, "When he dies, Hossein will not want to live! Ali Akbar is the life of Hossein." His handsome looks were matched by his good deeds. His nobility of character, sense of duty, generosity, chivalry, geniality and his love of justice had captivated every soul. We,as young Muslims, should use these great personalities as our role model in our life.I believe every Muslim is born with the light of Allah. Our Prophet and imams are the absolute light of Allah. We are lucky that we can follow these great personalities to make us perfect in our worldly life and hereafter. These personalities are the light of Allah, rather the reflection of Allah’s light.
