Take a Step Back | ||
Take a Step Back There are times in our life when we are just moving forward, without really thinking about how our life is in process, what is taking place and how things are taking direction, whether for a better move ahead, or rather it is a step back. Our closest friends, parents or even our siblings are often the best people for telling us how we are proceeding. They might be cautious at first and kindly let us know that somehow we are taking the wrong direction for some reason. But then how do we react; do we listen to them and hear them as they mean to express a point or do we prefer to resist, regardless of what they have to say to us. To begin with, we need to be honest with ourselves in any situation and seek the truth from others even if sometimes we feel unhappy about it; that is without taking any sides or feeling prejudiced. Others, whether our friends, parents or siblings, are like outsiders who consider issues we fail to see and consider because we are deeply involved in the situation and can’t see clearly and think straightforward for ourselves. If this is the case, behave fairly and try to consider the points they are making without feeling any sort of hostility or resentment towards them. And remember, they care for you and your life, otherwise they can choose to keep silent and watch your desperate failure or breakdown in due time. But since they can’t be indifferent towards you and your life, feelings and situation, and the time that is passing by, they feel an urgent need to express their opinion even though they are aware that you might not like it and react negatively and show an unpleasant behavior towards them in any case. So, take a step back and distance yourself from the situation you are deeply involved in, pause and think twice before you proceed on. Try to approach the issue from a totally new perspective and consider all the dimensions that you might have missed out so far for any possible reason. You will discover new aspects and take a new path; whether it’s a continuation or a halt somewhere midway. You will explore the benefits through each step you take… Sh. Ghandehari | ||
