Poland invites Iran to volleyball tourney Compiled by Mohsen Ziae About two months after the Iranian squad defeated the Polish team during the 2011 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) of Men’s World competitions, Poland has invited Iran’s national volleyball team to participate in a tournament. The Polish Volleyball Federation has asked the Iranian volleyball Federation to take part in the 10th annual Hubert Jerzy Wagner’s Memorial Volleyball tournament which will take place from 21-23 July in Warsaw. Australia, Brazil, Russia and South Korea are among the countries who will attend this international completion as well. The purpose of the tournament is to pay respect to the memory of Hubert Jerzy Wagner, Polish legendary volleyball player who died on 13th March 2002 in Warsaw. The 2011 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup started on November 20, and wrapped up on December 4, 2011. The volleyball teams from Brazil, Russia, and Poland secured spots for the London 2012 Olympic Games at the end of the sports event.
