Iran's diving swimming team earned three gold medals and three bronze medals at the Asian Age Group Swimming Championships 2011 which held its seventh round in Indonesia. Ali Shakoul and Hamid Karimi won the gold medal of the synchronized diving category at the event. Hong Kong and Thailand stood second and third respectively after the Iranian team. Meanwhile Mojtaba Valipour won gold in the one-meter springboard section, and Hesam Samadi won two bronze medals in the one-meter and three-meter platform. Also, Shakoul won another bronze medal for the Iranian outfit in the one-meter platform discipline too.
The Iranian water polo team defeated Sri Lanka 17-3 to advance to the quarterfinals of the water polo competition of the continental event. Iran defeated India and Kazakhstan before the game against Sri Lanka and is scheduled to take on Qatar. The competition will serve as the qualification tournament for the 2012 FINA World Junior Water Polo Championships, which will be held in Perth, Australia.
